FLIGHT REVIEW:

Flight:  Delta 20

Depart Time:  6:47PM   Landing Time:  8:05AM

Aircraft:  Boeing 767-300ER

Review:

Delta provided a very simple business class product here which it calls, Delta One.  I decided to go to Bucharest based on a sale Delta offered on business class flights to select European cities last fall. Since I have never been to Romania before, this was my only choice for a new experience.  Boarding went surprisingly fast and there was no delays during taxing and takeoff.

Buisness Class Seat

Unfortunately one of the thinner business class seats, even though this plane is supposed to have 21 inch wide seats.  The foot rest clearance when the seat is in full lay flat position is rather short.  As a side sleeper, it didn’t give me enough space and could not turn over when trying to sleep.  I ended up staying awake on both outgoing and return flights due to this problem.

Westin Heavenly Comforter and Pillow

The Westin Heavenly comforter and pillow were very soft and encourages sleeping.

IFE Movie Selection

Luckily the inflight entertainment system provided new movies and television shows to make the 7 hours pass by quickly.

Tumi Hard Case Amenities Kit
Amenity Kit Components

On the return trip, the amenities kit was contained in a soft shell case.  The components were exactly the same.

Meal Service

Meal service started promptly after leveling off.  Flight staff came down both aisles and took customers’ orders.    I have a strictly policy of not taking food I won’t eat since I hate wasting food.  The flight attended graciously brought me my main course of pan seared beef Tenderloin.

Main Course

The vegetables were cooked rather well, but the beef tenderloin was done to medium-well.  This is about the average of what I have found on most flights.  I didn’t have high expectations going into meal service.

Desert

The dessert choices were hot fudge sunday or lava cake.  The flight attended was kind enough to be bring me one of both.  I was disappointed to see a brownie instead of a lava cake.  The hot fudge sunday was exactly as I requested.  Extra fudge.

SUMMARY:

The flight arrived on time and was exactly as I expected from Delta.  The seat width being a little thinner than many of the other business class flights I have flown, and not being able to comfortably turn over while trying to fall asleep made a less comfortable. The flight crew were polite, generous and cheerful.  They worked really well with each other and it showed in their service.
