American Express is offering 5X Membership Rewards points for every dollar you spend at U.S. gas stations until September 30th.

I found this incredible offer of 4 extra Membersip Rewards points on my offers page for my American Express Platinum card.  These 4 extra points are in addition to the 1 point you receive on all your purchases with the Platinum card, netting you 5 total Membership Reward points.

Chase Freedom offers quarterly 5 points categories including gas stations.  I don’t know if this is going to be a repeating offer for American Express or just a one time event.

There is no limit on how many extra points can be earned during this promotion or how much you can spend at U.S. gas stations, but it does define that the locations has to be classified with American Express as a Gas Station in the United States.  The full terms are stated above.
